Tapp’s Art Center
Tapp’s Art Center is the present and future of the Art scene on Main Street Columbia, SC. The building formerly known as Tapp’s Department store is the home of a great project designed to bring studio space, gallery space, a woodworking shop, framing shop, and cafe under one roof. We have been an active participant of First Thursday’s since our inception with many artists exhibiting their works, local bands playing music, and even some film and live performance thrown in. Keep your eye out for exciting new things as we go through our transition from project to reality.
We are located at 1644 Main St, across the street from S&S Art Supply and on the corner of Main and Blanding Streets. You can’t miss us, we are the tall building with TAPP’S written at the top.

I’m so happy to have a studio/gallery/classroom in the Tapp’s Art Center! Hope to see everyone at Mingle and Jingle!
On behalf of Tapp’s Arts Center I would like to thank Mark Plessinger for starting the First Thursdays on Main. I remember being there from the humble beginings where it was just twenty or thirty of us in Frame of Mind to the phenomenon that it has now become. All due to Mark’s hard work.
Congratulations and Thank You.
